HTC EVO – the ultimate Android superphone?

Htcevo

Not sure when this is coming to Europe, but the HTC EVO launched yesterday looks like it really could be a milestone Android phone. I played around with the sister product HTC HD2 a few weeks back and was blown away by the quality of the screen and the responsiveness of the applications, and that thing uses Windows Mobile. Forget the 4G hype, it’s the rest of the EVO package that’s so exciting – 4.3 inch screen, two cameras, WiFi hotspot for up to 8 devices, 1GHz CPU, HDMI out etc etc.

If you’ve seen the HD2 you’ll realise that it looks absolutely stunning in real life, svelte, elegant, and very usable gorgeous. Now add in the EVO’s 8 megapixel camera, the 1 GB of internal memory (plus a microSD slot supporting up to 32 GB) and the ability to take HD quality video, this is going to really set the cat among the canaries in terms of mobile phone functionality. Watch the skies! [Gizmodo ReportEngadget video] Awesome.
