How to do proper oil spill booming – aka how BP and the US Coastguard are NOT

Want to see how proper oil spill containment with booms should be done? Read this piece [Warning: SNSFW bad language]. Notice that despite well established and long existing expert knowledge, BP and the authorities in the Gulf spill are NOT using the correct technique. Why not?

  • dude that's where I LIVE. they need to get their A$$ES in gear. everyone here has boycotted their gas, and I'm sure that's not all we will be doing to them. The oil hasn't hit us yet (Northwest FL) but we have been seeing the saddest things. sea turtles washing up, tons of dolphins in the water, thousands of stingrays literally SWIMMING where humans do, because there migrating from the oil. It's pretty sad to see communities in a last ditch effort to prepare, when we know what the eventual outcome is. I really haven't ever posted about this before, but I can honestly say, B.P. F*ck you. NOT only do you destroy our beaches, our wildlife, and potentially multiple state economies, but you make a mockery of it by deploying SHIT oil booms. I bet you knew that oil booms work only 10% of the time. Take into account this, and its ineffective. You have just screwed yourself over, and taken the Gulf of Mexico with you. Oh and your "dispersants" suck. Not only have you done nothing with them, but you've effectively poisoned the waters AGAIN. The long term effect of those chemicals is not even known to us. Get your damn rig under control, and then get the hell out of the US.
