Various news outlets are reporting that Tropical Storm Alex may soon strike the oil-primed Gulf of Mexico. This will have the double-barrel effect of halting the containment effort and disproving the adage of pouring oil onto troubled waters.

In spite of all of this we can at least take a little solace from the fact that Michael Bay predicted this would happen weeks ago. Just don’t let him use a nuke to put out the fireball, even if it just might work.
