The Near Field Communications (NFC) protocol has just been adopted by the ISO standards organisation, one year after first being proposed.

Well, very soon we’re going to be faced with a ‘no permissions’ wireless world, where people will instantly be able to connect up Bluetooth and other wireless devices just by holding them close or touching them together.
