Nationite Rocktab 7″ Android Tablet – super cheap tablet features some upmarket style

Normally we wouldn’t bother with yet another Chinese tablet computer, but this Nationite Rocktab 7” Android Tablet looks rather interesting. For one thing it’s very cheap, for another it’s apparently running a ‘customised and optimised’ version of Android 1.5 which actually looks pretty cool in operation. From the video it seems at least as fast as many of the higher priced mainstream models (cough…Samsung Tab…cough).

For a price of $129.50/£82.00 for the 2GB version (with microSD support note) which will accept a standard 3G WiFi dongle (assuming you can find one with the right drivers), this has to be an option for anyone interested in a tablet, but on a budget.

The Rocktab runs on the Rockchip RK2808 processor and a optimized version of Android 1.5. The 7″ screen make the Rocktab ideal for web surfing, ebook reading, picture viewing, video playback and for games. Along with the touch interface is a trackball and accelerometer that can be used for navigation and games.
