The Kno – single or dual screen ‘textbook’ tablet approaches the desk timidly

The Kno Linux powered tablet computer is designed for education, as a replacement textbook, student notebook and all round good guy. It comes in single or dual 14.1 inch touchscreen configurations with up to 6 hours battery life per charge and a choice of video and audio codecs for multimedia playback on demand.

It’s an interesting spin on the conventional tablet concept, so we’ll be interested to see how well it goes with this fairly chunky form factor and a price point starting at $599.00 for the single screen, 16GB memory version. Regular readers will know of our reservations about tablet computer utility as a whole, but let’s see.

All new educational tablet that revolutionizes how you learn… The Kno gives you everything you need to read books, write notes, highlight passages, browse the web, research and study – in one portable package. And you’ll save money (and your back!) with electronic textbooks.
