I’ve never had the need for a paper shredder, though I can understand why some people might. If you have sensitive paperwork that you need to dispose of, you might not want to leave it in tact for others to find in the trash. I suppose I just don’t have a lot of sensitive information to throw away, as I get most important documents online. So what does one do if they only need to destroy a few pieces of paper? Apparently you should get a Hand Paper Shredder.
Usually I’m on-board with ThinkGeek’s products. Generally speaking they are useful, amusing or at least just extremely geeky. This one really doesn’t seem to fall into any of those categories. It just shreds one piece of paper, which has to be folded twice. It doesn’t even do cross-cutt shredding. (Yes, I spent too long selling shredders at Staples.) For the $24 price, you could almost buy a small paper shredder that sits on the floor and does the work for you.
