Xi3 is a tiny PC that hides behind your monitor

There are times, when something is made that just scream awesome. The ability to replace your computer tower with a tiny block is one of those things. The Xi3 is a palm-sized compact desktop that wont take up a sizable amount of space. This is definitely much smaller than any other compact desktops you will see. This system was designed to be highly customizable, and its confident manufacturer says its, The last system youll ever need.

There are three sections on the inside. One section is RAM, and the other two are for I/O boards. All of which can be easily swapped out. As its size is that of a puppy, it only uses 20 watts to run; much better than a big tower could ever do. Plus you can mount it straight to the back of your monitor.

The Xi3 will be around early this year, and will start at around $850 for a base unit. For that price, you obviously won’t be getting the same horsepower that you’d find in an equally-priced desktop. You will, however be able to get an AMD Athlon 64 2.2GHz and up to 4GB of RAM.

  • Or, you know, buy a small netbook with output ports which is admittedly somewhat larger but probably significantly cheaper and has the added benefit of additional monitor when you need it and a built in battery back up. That is what I did with my old eeePC (running Windows) for a while.

  • Considering that's its only able to have a dual core system with only a maximum of 4Gb, this PC would probably be best suited for a car PC.
Granted, its small. But its way to expensive for the most basic setup…
