These days it seems like our phones can do practically everything. If you’re like me, you depend on one for practically everything. Of course, it can be frustrating when you do run into one of those annoying limitations. For instance, lets say that you’ve just received an email on your phone with a very important document attached. This document needs to be printed out and you’re at the office, but not at your desk. In most cases, you’re going to have to find a computer if you want to print it out. Well not anymore.
Google has announced the ability to print from virtually any phone that supports HTML5. This of course includes iOS and Android (2.1+) devices. What you’ll need to do is connect your home (office, or wherever) printer to the Google Cloud Print service. Then whenever you need to print from your phone, you’ll see the ‘print’ option in your mobile Gmail. Since it’s in the cloud, you don’t need to be on a specific WiFi network, it will print so long as you have an internet connection.
