Not everyone in this world is cut out for being a handyman. Even simple tasks like hanging shelves can seem like a daunting task to someone who’s never used a drill before. That’s why one designer came up with this NEUTRAL Power Drill. Combining a drill, stud finder and laser guide, this conceptual gadget is aimed at those who don’t often pick up power tools.
Part of me likes this device, as it uses the front guard as a means of stabilizing the drill as it’s doing the work. The laser guide also helps make sure that you’re in the right spot. My biggest issue is with the fact that the drilling mechanism slides back and forth as it goes. I’d see this being a problem for those times when you need to put a lot of pressure on the back of the drill. I suppose you could use your other hand to accomplish this. Perhaps with a bit of tweaking, this concept could turn into a useful gadget that we’ll see on store shelves.
