It’s funny how advances in technology that make our lives easier always seem to come with their own annoyances. Take, for instance, the wireless mouse. While it’s great to be rid of the cable going to your computer, I hate having to change out the batteries. Mostly because they only seem to die when I’m trying to do something really important (or I’m in the middle of a game that I can’t pause). Well if you really want to make your mouse last as long as possible, replace those AA’s with a cell phone battery.
While that might sound crazy at first, it’s not terribly far-fetched. In fact, there’s a great guide on how to do that very thing. It’ll take a bit of careful deconstruction in the battery housing, and even some reshaping of the battery itself. However, the end product is a mouse that’s going to last much, much longer than before. With just a little more effort, you can make a charger for the mouse that doesn’t require you to remove the battery at all.
