Streamwriter – awesome freeware lets you record the web

Streamwriter

Streamwriter is a very cool new open source Internet streaming radio recorder and editor which works extremely well. You can record as many stations as you like at one time into MP3 or AAC, it comes with a built in station browser and will also automatically split tracks as they finish. You can also manually edit the track lengths as required.

One excellent feature I’ve not seen before is the ability to set up a wishlist of tracks you want to record, and the program will automatically grab them when they get played on a station. Nifty indeed!! It’ll also skip adverts. A definite keeper.

Record as many streams as you want at the same time (MP3/AAC). Automatically record a wishlist’s song when it’s playing on a stream. Track splitting with silence detection. Function for manual cutting of saved titles. Tracks are named by a given pattern Short songs (ads) can be skipped. ID3 tagging and script-based postprocessing option
