This is kind of complicated, so I’m not going to explain it in depth, but it appears that there is a growing movement out there to back link – i.e. to identify where visitors to a site are coming from by placing their link of origin in full view on a Web page. It may be a tad self-referential, but it’s fun.

Look at the bottom of the Ferret and you’ll see a similar thing that I’ve been doing for a while now, but this appears to be way more…er…structured. Not sure what the upshot is supposed to be, but I’m sure it will turn out interesting at some point in the future. Read the article to get a better idea of what it’s all about.
