Ollie – The autonomous robotic blimp

Going to the office wouldn’t be so bad if you had someone interesting to talk to. The person in the cubicle next to you has some very interesting stories about what they had for lunch, but sometimes you just want a friendship in the workplace that doesn’t require you to listen to long, boring stories. The best companion you could find would likely be a robot, but you have the problem of not knowing how to make one. Especially one that has any kind of personality.

Thankfully, the Internet has come through for us once again with a guide from Pritika Nilaratna. This robot somewhat resembles a blimp and a fish simultaneously. Ollie is his name, and he is quite the little performer. This robotic blimp has an emotional range of a toddler, but is very curious about people and his surroundings. He expresses his happiness by flapping his wings, and will continue to explore until he finds something interesting. You can build your very own Ollie via Instructables as the how-to and all the coding is available there. A day at the office will never be boring again.
