If you’re tech-savvy, then you can probably spot an internet scam a mile away. No Nigerian prince is going to swindle you out of your hard-earned money. Nor are you going to believe some flashing banner that congratulates you on being the one millionth visitor. However, there are plenty of people out there who do fall for such tricks. After all, if they didn’t work, people wouldn’t put so much effort into creating them.
The BBB (Better Business Bureau) has put together a rather helpful infographic that can help identify some of the most common scams out there. The list ranges from getting swindled while trying to find a job, to good old fashioned identity theft. Since the best way to prevent getting taken in is to be informed, you might consider printing this out and giving a copy to your parents, grandparents, or anyone else that you think might fall for such things. Be sure to visit the BBB’s site for the full graphic.
