Z-Type is a fun way to improve your typing skills

In today’s modern world, learning to type quickly and efficiently is something that everyone should do. Whether you’re a college student writing up an essay, writing a report for your boss, or just sending a message to a friend on Facebook, you’ll need to type. It blows my mind to see people my own age staring intently at their keyboards, trying to peck out sentence after sentence. If you have trouble touch-typing, then it might be time to find a program to help you improve your skills.

There are plenty of typing programs out there, but they all tend to be dull and boring. However, I recently stumbled onto one free browser-based game that keeps you on your toes, and encourages you to type quickly. Z-Type is a simple game that puts you in a ship that must defend itself against waves of other incoming ships. Each other ship will have a word on it, and you will need to type the word to destroy it. You’ll need to be quick, as some ships will spawn new enemies, and others will shoot out a barrage of missiles (composed of individual letters). It’s fast-paced, and fun. What more could you want out of a simple typing game?
