A water bottle that’s really a bike lock

Küat Racks Bottle Lock in place

Everyone knows that it’s important to keep your bike locked when you’re not around. But bike locks are annoyingly bulky to deal with when you’re enjoying a long bike ride.

Enter the Küat Racks Bottle Lock. It may look like an ordinary plastic water bottle, but inside it’s got five feet (1.5 meters) of plastic-coated 7.5 mm braided steel cable. Weighing in at only 14 ounces, this stylish faux water bottle will let you lock both the frame and wheels of your bike.

This unique bike lock comes with a set of 2 keys and a hidden compartment in the bottom of the “bottle” – a perfect place to store money, ID or housekeys, though you probably won’t want to keep those in it while you’re away from your bike for safety’s sake. Isn’t it amazing what creative minds will come up with?

  • 7.5 mm == easily choppable with bolt cutters or even sharp pliers…. Definitely not good for cities with even half-incompetent thieves.
