IRIS 9000 turns your iPhone into a familiar robot

Since I upgraded to the iPhone 4S, I’ve found myself talking to Siri a lot. I’ve found it most useful in the car, as it’s illegal to text and drive in my state, unless you have some sort of hands-free device. Well ThinkGeek has announced a new accessory that makes me want to use Siri even more when I’m at home. Behold the IRIS 9000.

Inspired by HAL 9000 (who Siri refuses to talk about), this cradle will allow you to give Siri commands and ask her questions from across the room. This works by using a small remote, which activates Siri, and a built-in mic from the docking station hears your commands. The best part is that the glowing eye pulses when Siri is talking. This $60 gadget won’t be available until next Spring, but you can bet this will be going in my living room.
