EZSAVE Lockdown USB HDD Enclosure password protects your drive

Carrying around a portable hard drive is a good way to keep a good deal of data on you at all times. Unfortunately, it’s also a good way for your private information to end up in someone else’s hands. The best way to protect against this is to encrypt your drive, so that no one can get to the information, should they somehow acquire the drive. Of course, setting up encryption software on multiple computers might be more of a hassle than you’d like. In that case, there’s the EZSAVE Lockdown USB 3.0 HDD Enclosure.

This hard drive enclosure does more than just give your 2.5-inch drive a USB 3.0 interface. It actually encrypts the drive, and requires a password for decryption. But instead of requiring special software on your computer to decrypt it, you need only punch in a series of numbers on the enclosure itself. Since everything happens in the enclosure, this also removes the hassle of dealing with different operating systems. In all, not too bad for $85.
