Soften up those wool sweaters with conditioner

With cold weather already setting in, you may consider pulling those sweaters out of the closet to keep you warm. Most of them are nice and fuzzy, and quite comfortable to wear. Of course, there’s always that wool sweater that itches like crazy while you’re wearing it. Sure, an undershirt helps, but you’ll still feel it around your collar and wrists. So how do you make the fabric more bearable? The same way you make your hair nice and soft.

As it turns out, using a bit of conditioner (yes, for your hair) will soften it right up. You’ll need to get your sweater thoroughly wet, then press out as much water as you can (don’t wring it). Then, gently work in a liberal amount of conditioner into the fabric, and let it soak for about a half hour. Rinse out the conditioner, then let your sweater dry as usual. Now I wish I hadn’t gotten rid of those itchy sweaters.
