LomoKino turns 35mm film into a 144-frame movie

There’s something beautiful about old pictures and movies shot on film. All of the imperfections of the film, the shooting and the development show through in the finished product. Rarely these days do you see anything shot on film, as only the most dedicated of people bother with it, what with the advancement of the digital age. However, if you absolutely love that look, and want to make some artistic movies of your own, you might want to check out this LomoKino.

This video camera will take any ordinary roll of 35mm film (yes, the stuff meant for regular still cameras) and allow you to shoot video with it. Just pop in the film, and start cranking. You’ll be able to produce a short film in just 144 frames. Think of it as the Twitter of film making. Once you’re finished, you can have the film developed and run it through their LomoKinoScope to watch it, or just scan the negatives to your computer and piece them together in a video editor. You can get the LomoKino by itself for $79, or bundled with the LomoKinoScope for $99.
