If you love flying model planes and have more money than you know what to do with, you should look into getting the OVO-4 Home Flight Simulator. Sure, it costs $57,000, but hey, it’s the most realistic you can get without actually flying a plane. Not to mention it takes all that danger of actually crashing a plane out of the picture. Utilizing Microsoft Flight Simulator X, the OVO-4 will give you all the reality of flying a plane with movement such as pitching, twisting, slipping, accelerating, and braking on the runway.
A series of vibration systems will let you know what it feels like to experience in-flight turbulence, runway irregularities, engine vibration, and the jolt you get from ignition. All this will be happening inside of a sealed, white, egg-like enclosure that has three 24-inch monitors. No pilots licenses are needed here, but you could easily just get a license and fly a real plane for a whole lot cheaper. However, I can see how this would be much more appealing for those of you who have always wanted to fly, but have an extreme fear of heights. Well, actual heights that is. For the rest of us who weren’t born with that golden egg-laying goose, we’ll just enjoy our paper and model airplanes in a field somewhere.
