Tails is a live USB or CD based system which is designed to provide ultimate privacy for your online habits. The freeware pack includes ‘state of the art’ cryptographic tools, as well as an integrated Tor connectivity stack to ensure you’re safe from prying eyes while you interact with teh Internets.

It’s all held together by Debian Linux of course, and features FireGPG for secure email, IceWeasel for private web browsing and Pidgin for all your instant chat needs. Despite all the super-secret stuff, there are the usual warnings about not relying on this stuff too much unless you go the complete paranoid. Caveat Securitor!

 Tails is a live CD or live USB that aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity. It helps you to: use the Internet anonymously almost anywhere you go and on any computer: all connections to the Internet are forced to go through the Tor network; leave no trace on the computer you’re using unless you ask it explicitly; use state-of-the-art cryptographic tools to encrypt your files, email and instant messaging.
