Use the Make Kit Guide to plan your next DIY project

When you go to the store and buy something shiny and new, you’ll bring it home and enjoy it. But after a while, it will just be another thing in your home that doesn’t really stand out as being special. However, when you create something with your own hands and use it for years to come, it will always be special, because you made it. Plus, when you’re building something, you can make it to be exactly what you need, and often times for less than you would pay at the store. This is why we try to promote DIY projects here at Red Ferret.

If you’re on the lookout for new projects to try at home, you might want to have a loot at the Make: Ultimate Kit Guide 2012. This updated book has a breakdown of over 175 different kits that can get you started on your next project. Everything from DIY cars, to 3D printing and even steam engines. You can buy it as either a PDF for $7, or have a physical book shipped to you for $10.
