The Oona is a versatile smartphone stand

There are tons of smartphone stands on the market. Some are for your desk, others mount to your car’s windshield, and some even let you put your phone on the wall. These all have great practical applications, but wouldn’t it be great if you only needed one stand for all those things? Well that’s the idea behind the Oona.

The Oona is a very simple stand, simple enough that you wouldn’t believe it could do so many things. It is machined with three different holes. These holes are used to attach suction cups, or to attach the base. you can even use them with a standard camera tripod. Because of the positioning of the holes, you can stick it to virtually any surface (that’s slick, of course) and have your phone at the right angle. The suction cups are rated for 8oz, which is heavier than any smartphone on the market. Just $30 gets you the main piece, a stand and four suction cups.

  • I got my hands on the Oona recently. There aren't many places that sell it in the UK that sell it besides these guys. It's pretty good. I was a little nervous that the suction wouldn't hold my phone well, but once you use it, you realize that it isn't really an issue. It actually has a surprisingly strong grip, perhaps even better than some of the other smartphone stands about at the moment.

My phone now spends it life stuck on the cupboard in my kitchen, displaying recipes for me to read whilst cooking :]

    • Cool, does it work with any smartphone?
