Whenever you feel like writing or doodling on your iPad, it’s always helpful to have a stylus. The only problem with them is that they aren’t very accurate. This is why I was so pleased to find the iPen. It was a Kickstarter project that ended about a week ago, and it blew its goal for funding out of the water.
This multipurpose stylus was developed by Cregle Inc., and is much more advanced than any other writing utensil for the iPad. Most will just have a rounded tip that will rely solely on the iPad’s capacitive touch sensors, but this stylus goes one step beyond and implements its own additional infrared and ultrasonic signals so that you have pinpoint precision. You can track the stylus even when it’s not on the iPad, as there is a moving cursor. All these sensors and signals also give you the ability to actually rest your hand on the iPad without messing up the input. Not being forced to have hover hands for a piece of technology alone makes it well worth the $89 you’ll spend on it. Plus, just watch the video to see how accurately it registers handwriting.
