We all have an excessive amount of things that plug in via USB. It only makes sense that we would need more ports, as no one wants to plug and unplug things a thousand times. The problem being, we also don’t want to have things sucking up energy for hours at a time. That’s why this 12-Port USB Hub from Satechi is perfect for those who need the ports, but want to use them efficiently.
The unique thing about this hub is that it has two control switches that can turn on and off groups of six USB 2.0 ports at a time. A blue LED will indicate which set you are using, which will also help you trail to cord to its source if you do end up needing to unplug something. If you have a lot of USB devices, this $28 gadget should serve you well.
The only problem I see with all these USB port docks is that you have to have another plug going into the wall, and who really has one of them going spare?
ThinkGeek has/had a far better USB hub. Granted it can only power 7 devices, but you can switch them off individually. Plus it is/was only $19.99. http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/e2…
