Children love technology. I’ve seen more than my share of little tots grabbing at their mom and dad’s smartphone. Who can blame them though, seeing as their parents are constantly on these devices, which must mean that whatever it is, must be fun to play with. However, most phones and tablets are not exactly made for children, and most apps generally aren’t geared towards kids.
The Archos Child Pad is meant to be both a source of entertainment and education. It is a 7 tablet that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Having access to over 10,000 kid-friendly apps, it has 1GB of RAM, and runs on a 1GHz processor. While it can be used by all ages, it is mainly meant for children. Its price however, is geared towards kids who have wealthy parents, as I don’t know of any elementary kids with $129 in their lunchbox. Obviously the internet would be an issue, but there is a mobile parental filter, which will provide peace of mind for parents. If you have kids, a big stack of money, and would like to purchase this for your little one, you’ll have to wait until the end of March when it hits the shelves.
