The LED suit – a snowboarder’s (night-time) delight

LED suit Snowboarding

Ski “bums” love their snow – day or night. And anything that lets them do it is a winner. The LED light suit is a one-of-a-kind, experimental suit made for night skiing.

An estimated 300 man hours were spent building, testing and fine-tuning the light suit. The final result used strips of LED lighting powered by nickel-metal hydride batteries. Then it was time for experienced Arctic “snow surfer” William Hughes to light up the night!

Like an ethereal snow ghost, watching Hughes glide effortlessly down the slopes in this amazing suit is breathtaking, haunting and almost other-worldly. Truly fantastic!

  • That is an absolutely fantastic video, I'm glad it had the explanation otherwise I'd have just presumed it was done in post-production.
