Brinno TLC 200 – the time lapse camera gets a fun makeover

brinnotlc200

Time lapse photography is one of those camera techniques that can yield incredibly dramatic results, even if you’re not that skilled. As long as there’s enough light and you point the camera in the right direction, you can create the coolest, funniest or most amazing results, as long as you have patience and a lot of time to spare.

The Brinno TLC 200 aims to make it easier to capture good looking time lapse photography, and more to the point it features some very practical functionality for the beginner. For one thing it uses very little battery power, which means you can set it up to take decent length results without worrying that it will run out of power mid-way.

When you consider that a time lapse clip can contain thousands of images, this is important, especially since you’re unlikely to be next to a power source when you’re running this kind of project, especially those involving nature or landscapes. It will cope with up to 300,000 frames on one set of four AA batteries, and you can set time intervals up to 24 hours, which should be more than enough for the most exotic project.

The camera also accepts a range of accessories, like a wide angle lens, motion sensor, outdoor case and also a push button remote, which is great for doing stop-motion photography quickly and easily. The image frames are stored on SD cards and the camera accepts cards up to 32GB in size. For time lapse projects, the output is AVI video. Priced at around $200.00.
