We love freeware programs here on the Ferret, but more than that even, we love teeny tiny freeware programs. Specifically because these small parcels of code tend to offer a highly focused set of functions and do away with all the bloat and install trauma you get with commercial programs.
FlicFlac is a perfect example of what we mean. This tiny (800kb) doesn’t need to install itself on your computer and just runs standalone, and when you need to convert a file to or from MP3, WAV, OGG or FLAC, it’s done in an instant. Click the button or drag a file onto the area and choose what you want to convert it to.
The program can also be set to integrate itself into your Windows Explorer right click menu if you’re one of those who does a lot of file conversion, and fussy users will be pleased to see that the software copes with variable rate and higher resolution files as well as the typical requirements. All in all a neat little tool for the toolbox.
Hey, thanks for this review, glad you like it.
