LUMOback wants to help you improve your posture

There are many of us who have a terrible slouching problem. We hunch over our food, computers, books, and desk at work without even realizing it. You might be able to catch yourself every now and then, but if you could train yourself to just have better posture, wouldn’t that solve the problem altogether?

The LUMOback is a combination of a posture sensor and phone app that will let you know when you’re back isn’t straight. This is worn on your lower back, and will vibrate if you start to slouch. It works in tandem with your iPhone 5, 4S, 5th gen iPod Touch, and iPad 3 or 4. This will track all of your movement throughout the day, and has a little avatar named LUMO that shows what your posture is like in real time. This would be a great way to correct poor posture, but it is a bit pricey at $149. There are a variety of sizes, but it only comes in black, which honestly won’t matter because you’re supposed to wear it under your clothes. While I’m sure improved posture would help you to feel better about yourself, the video below seems a bit sensational, doesn’t it?

  • Well I could do with one of these! I think this office generation are going to end up with bad backs unless we all start wearing things like this. A bit pricey indeed, though.
