Skike All-Terrain Skates are unnecessarily complicated

Do you like skiing and rollerblading? Have you ever thought of combining the two? No? Well that’s probably because it would over-complicate a very simple mode of transportation. That being said, it hasn’t stopped someone from inventing this weird combo.

They’re called Skikes, and they are intended to be all-terrain skates. You can glide over grass, gravel, pavement, or crushed stone without needing to worry about wobbling over. These strap on over your shoes, and you use the poles to propel yourself forward. There are emergency brakes on each ski if you should need to stop suddenly. One pair of these will cost you $299, or $349 if you’re also wanting the Excel poles. These Skikes can supports skiers of up to 265 pounds, and have 5 or 6” inflatable tires. Seeing as roller blades are a fraction of the price, I think I’ll stick with the possibility of a fall every now and then as it’s a fraction of the price.
