Mattress Genie turns your bed into a recliner

Mattress Genie

Not everyone sleeps the same way. Some prefer to lay on their side or back, and others snooze on their stomach. Whatever position you sleep in, it’s normally in a horizontal line, but that doesn’t work for everyone. If you would prefer to sleep at an incline, you’ll need to either have an army of pillows, or a way to raise the head of your bed.

The Mattress Genie Bed Lift System is a quick way to raise or lower your bed up to 26 inches. In essence, this is an inflatable wedge that fits under your mattress. To set it up, you’ll need to slide the Genie under your mattress, attach the hose, and plug it in. From there, you’ll use the wand control gives you the options of up, down, and flat, and illuminates at night. The material is a thick polymer that has double welded seams that should hopefully not let air escape. This is a $180 system, but I’m seeing a few potential problems with it. It’s going to be loud since it’s an electric air pump, it might deflate if you’re not laying in the right spot (the same with air mattresses), and while it may work with any kind of bed, it’s likely going to scoot your mattress forward if you don’t have a footboard. Still cheaper than getting a brand name reclining bed.
