Vuzix Wrap 1200AR – Is this the real life or augmented reality?

It’s always fascinating to see what sort of new virtual or augmented reality gizmos are coming out. Some make you excited for the future of entertainment, and others make you disappointed. Grand steps have been made for virtual reality with things like the Oculus Rift, but what about augmented?

The Vuzix Wrap 1200AR is a compact way to view otherwise unseen worlds. It wears just like sunglasses, but has two VGA cameras and displays that will show you video in 3D. This applies to augmented reality or otherwise, and is equipped with head-tracking technology. While this $1500 toy is likely not going to be picked up in droves by the masses just yet, it may become a commodity for entertainment when it gets closer to a price range of $200 or so.
