Orcrist Replica will take care of any unruly goblins

Only a few months ago, the Hobbit came out and renewed our love of Tolkien’s work. Obviously things weren’t exactly as they should have been, as Hollywood seems to enjoy adding a little artistic flare, but it brought stories we’ve always loved to life. Wizards, creatures, and items of power we could’ve only imagined were now tangible things, and now we can bring a little bit of that home with us. We did look at a tiny version of some of the props in the past, but this is a few steps beyond that.

Orcrist, the sword of Thorin Oakenshield has been crafted by the good people at WETA for you to hang over the mantle. You can use it to rid the world of goblins if you so desire, but I’m sorry to say that job has already been taken care of. This is quite literally a replica, as it is made of tempered spring steel with the elvish runes with four cubic zirconia gemstones lain in the pommel. It also comes with the scabbard which is made of white oak, steel, and connects to a leather belt which has a steel buckle, loop, and tip. This $9,900 piece of craftsmanship is meant to be worn over the shoulder, though I hope you won’t be wearing this on a day-to-day basis.

  • I wonder if it glows blue when a nerd is about to accidentally cut his fingers off?
