Silent Pocket Tablet – keep your 3G iPad or Android tablet out of temptation’s way

silentpockettablet

You know we’ve got a problem when people create products to solve them, so it’s clear we’re suffering from some sort of handheld Internet computing addiction which needs treatment. Why else would someone create a product which has the specific task of shutting off Internet signals to your 3G tablet?

Silent Pocket Tablet is a soft leather slip case which has an RF shielded interior which blocks out all incoming signals. That means that your 3G tablet will not be able to accept any incoming messages, emails, Skype or Internet calls, and you can carry about your business free from distraction and its dreaded cousin Procrastination. Now why you can’t just use the power off button we don’t know, maybe it’s something to do with the hassle of multi-second boot up times?

The case comes in brown or black leather, and as an added bonus is roomy enough to store your other bits and bobs, such as credit cards, cash and your last will and testament. Oh and the shielding should also help protect you against nasty RFID scanner types who are itching to get hold of your chip and PIN details. Apparently. The product retails at $175.00.

  • I agree that the OFF switch should be used more often people in general but, as mentioned on their website, this does have the advantage that alarms will still ring on the device and your movements are not tracked.
