Self Balancing Electric Unicycle – don’t sweat walking to work

Self-Balancing Unicycle
Riding a unicycle requires a certain amount of skill. You have to learn how to keep your balance, steer, turn, and move, all without familiar assistance such as handle bars or brakes. This seems like a very convenient method for commuting, but if you aren’t to gifted with balancing skills, you may be out of luck. You can always get an electric version, but do be prepared to open your wallets.

The Self-Balancing Electric Unicycle will take over the whole balancing act for you, and all you need to do is lean. It’s about the size of a briefcase, and your job in all of this is to stand on the foot pads on either side, and lean forward, backward, and to the side for turning. It uses gyroscopic sensors to compensate for its rider and any luggage they may be carrying (backpack, messenger bag, etc.). It can run for around two hours with a 160 pound rider, but it can support up to 250 lbs. Running off of its rechargeable lithium-ion battery, this $2,700 unicycle would need at least a three hour charge to run at top speed of 13 miles per hour.
