Fotor – image editing for everyone…and we mean everyone [Freeware]

fotor

Yes it is impossible to beat Adobe Photoshop at image editing, simply because the product comes with a brilliant feature set which has taken decades to perfect. But there are times when you don’t need all the bells and whistles, and just a quick and dirty tool will do very nicely.

Fotor is a new image editor which is hugely impressive (and we’re not easily impressed). For one thing, this free editor comes in six – count ’em – six versions out of the box. Not only is there a Windows and Mac version, but also an online version using the browser, plus Android and iPhone apps. It also comes in four languages including Klingon. Kidding!

As if that wasn’t enough, the program also comes with a stonkingly cool user interface, with bags of functionality packed into a very clean set up. All the important stuff is there, including sophisticated exposure, color balance and cropping features. There’s also a set of one click effects like Lomo and Vignette, and scenes reminiscent of those found on point and shoot cameras.

The result is a program which offers all the trivial fun of something like Instagram, but with a serious set of tools available for those who need to actually do real stuff, rather than playing around. As we said before, it absolutely won’t replace anything pro like Lightroom or Photoshop, but for fast easy editing, it’s a treat.

The online version is also a great option for those who prefer doing their editing via the browser. It also features extra niceties such as a clip-art section and more effects to play with. If you’re in the market for a slightly different, and yet very cool photo editor, then this should definitely be on your list. Very nice!
