Zendulum Solar Powered Kit – peace of mind in a DIY kit?

Making something with your own two hands lends a certain amount of pride whenever you look at it. Perhaps that’s why doing kits are so much fun! When they have some sort of purpose other than just being in existence, that makes it all the better.

The Zendulum Solar Powered Kit does move the most fluidly among the world of pendulums, but you will have the peace of mind knowing you made it. This kit comes with a solar mounting bracket, options for LED back-lighting, bonsai/ying-yang cutouts, and it uses a high-powered neodymium magnet for the ball (very dangerous if ingested). This costs $40, but you’ll need your own solder, tools, and batteries. It can be powered via USB if you choose. This isn’t a particularly difficult item to put together, but it’s not particularly ‘Zen-like’ to watch.
