Aquaponics Fish Garden – It’s the circle of life

aquaponics_fish_garden_kitchen
Keeping a fish is not nearly as intensive as having a cat or dog. You don’t really need to interact with them all that much other than to toss in some food. Of course, the lovely task of cleaning out their bowl comes up what feels like rather frequently, but there are ways to get around that.

The Aquaponics Fish Garden will let you grow some healthy food, keep a pet fish, and clean your tank all at once. Fresh herbs and leafy greens that you plant in the top section will feed off of the excrement from the fish to provide nutrients for your plants. In return, the plants will clean up your fish tank! This $60 tank comes with five planters, fish-prep preventative bath, dechlorinator, a water pump, tubing, as well as wheat grass, lettuce, and basil seed packs. This also comes with a free DIY Mushroom Kit. So long as you can mentally process eating fish poo food, this is a pretty sweet setup.
