Wilson Electronic 3G/4G Cell Phone Booster – your phone signal…on steroids [Review]

Why is it that the very times we need our mobile phones the most, are the times when we have no signal? It’s some kind of law, Need to make an urgent call? No signal. Browse a crucial website? No signal. Find a gas station fast? No…signal. And so on. But help is at hand.

Over the course of the summer I have taken the Wilson Electronics Sleek 4G Cell Phone Booster on a little trip around the USA, and I can report that it was able to significantly boost my signal in such remote places as the mountains of West Virginia and the beaches of Northern Michigan. In both places I was able to make calls, send texts, and browse the internet in places where I previously did not have coverage. Check out my video review below.

Notes

– The Wilson Electronics Cell Phone Booster attaches to the roof of your vehicle and has a cable that you must run back into the interior of your car. For most vehicles you will be able to hide the small cable inside of your weather strip and then under your floor mat.

– It requires external power through 12V source (what we used to call a cigarette lighter).

– You phone then clamps into the cradle, which in turn acts to boost your signal.

– While the cell phone booster is far more effective while it is in the cradle – it does seem to help boost the signal of all of the devices in the vehicle. Some kind of ambient effect?

– The device comes with a permanent mount, which uses an sticky patch to lock the mount in place on the dash.

– The cable connector from the antenna does get very warm. While it doesn’t get hot enough to burn it does get uncomfortably warm.

– You will want to disconnect the power source when you leave the vehicle otherwise it will slowly drain the battery.

– While it is designed primarily for vehicles, it can also be used in other locations. You will need to have a spot to mount the antenna and a 5V external power source (a computer USB, an electrical socket USB adapter or an external powerbank)

– Also comes with a USB port to act as a USB charger for your devices.

Conclusion
The Wilson Electronics Sleek 4G Cell Phone Booster is a very effective way to help boost your cell phone coverage. While the device has a few features that I am not enamored with, it is still an excellent way to boost your coverage.

Many people believe that Kevin was the original inspiration for the character Tony Stark of Ironman fame, while others believe that he is the REAL Tony Stark. Only time will tell which group is correct. Kevin graduated in engineering and economics while living in Michigan and a master’s degree in business while in Mississippi. A veteran reviewer of over 10 years, he is also currently a Top 50 reviewer on Amazon.com, which just shows that he has far too much time on his hands.
