Rubbee – for those days when you wish you had an electric bicycle

Rubbee
While the idea of having an electric bicycle is nice, they can be a tad pricey. Not only that, but if you already own a bike, you’ll be wasting one in favor of the other. While there are conversion kits out there, many of them can be heavy or look awkward (so long as it works there shouldn’t be an issue, but some are concerned with aesthetics).

The Rubbee will allow you to choose whether your bike is electrically or manually powered. It’s an electric drive that can be mounted on just about any bicycle within a minute. Of course, this isn’t going to be a cheap option, as it hovers around $1,000+ in price.

It has a 20000mAh battery that needs about two hours to fully charge. This will take you around 15 miles without any pedaling at around 25 mph. The friction wheel is made of a special kind of polyurethane that won’t wear off your wheel too much, and can still grip even when the tire is muddy and wet. Its multifunction power button will indicate the amount of power you have left, and if has a lifespan of 2000 cycles (every day for five years).

  • Yeah that’s exactly what I thought too, and we all know how well that turned out. :)
