Audio Visual Alerting Pillbox – the very helpful meds robot

Modern medicine is more than marvelous, it’s sometimes miraculous. It’s not uncommon nowadays for those with serious illnesses to be kept alive by an absolutely astonishing combination of pills and medicines, each one dealing with a specific response from another part of the treatment. What this means to the patient, especially if they’re an outpatient, is an often confusing set of medicines with particular requirements which must be adhered to if the stuff is to work properly.

This Audio Visual Alerting Pillbox is designed to remove some of the confusion from the process of managing large amounts of medication ingestion. The box contains not just an audible beeper which sounds off when the medicine is due for consumption, but also fires up a green LED light on the front.

The box is actually so high tech that you need to connect it to a computer to program the initial setup, including prescription information, dosage and timings. The software also lets you print off medication reference sheets which fit under the lid to align with the dispensary boxes containing the pills. The whole thing runs off a rechargeable battery pack, which is good for up to six weeks after a charge. Priced at $149.95.
