Rather Google Chrome Extension – for when you’d rather see something else in social media [FREEWARE]

Rather Google Chrome Extension

Cats, along with a host of other topics, seem to have taken over the Internet at times, which is great… unless you don’t like cats or whatever else the current trending topic seems to be. Fortunately, you can now remove unwanted content from your social media streams without having to take the extreme step of unfriending/unfollowing someone.

Just because something is trending all over the place doesn’t necessarily mean everyone likes being bombarded by the subject. Maybe you’ve seen enough of Miley Cyrus’ tongue-wagging VMA video. Maybe you haven’t gotten around to watching the latest episode of The Walking Dead and you’d prefer to not accidentally find out who the latest victim of the Walkers is. With the Rather Google Chrome Extension, it’s easy to say you’d rather see this than that.

No matter what topic you’d prefer to avoid (Spoilers, Sports, Babies, Miley Cyrus, Abused Animals), you can use this extension to tell Facebook and Twitter not to bother you with it; you can even adjust settings so content from particular sites is ignored.

Even better, you can share the love with others because one of the features is the ability to share your list of blocked content with friends, and if you’d rather block certain content completely instead of replacing it with something else, that’s an option as well.

While only users of Google Chrome can benefit from this online luxury at the moment, it will soon be available for both Firefox and Safari, so hang tough non-Chrome users. Help is on the way.
