Sometimes you come across an idea that’s just perfect, and so obvious you wonder why it hasn’t been thought of before. Such is the case with this new idea for a candlestick holder which collects the melting wax from the burning candle to form a new candle.
The Rekindle Candle looks similar to a conventional candlestick holder, except it’s made up of a hollow tube. Stick a candle into the top attachment, and as it burns down, the wax will collect inside the tube over time and because there’s a wick already suspended inside, a new candle is formed. Brilliant!
The designer, Benjamin Shine, doesn’t say how many candles it takes to create a new one, but even so it’s a great idea, and one which makes sense on so many levels. The one thing to note is that properly designed candles don’t drip, because they have the right wick to fuel ratio, so this is probably only going to be useful for cheap, dodgy candles, but we still love the idea.
