Neatamo, the company best known for its range of home weather stations and accessories, has stepped out into the jewelry market. Well, almost. The company has announced the June bracelet, which is designed to keep you safe from harmful exposure to the sun’s rays.
The bracelet, which is worn like a piece of jewelry, works together with your smartphone to measure the intensity of the sun’s beams (specifically UV rays of course), and monitor if you have been exposed too long for your own good. The accompanying app can also coach you on being more ‘sun aware’, and how to stay tanned while avoiding anything nasty.
The product comes in a range of chic colors, including gold and platinum, so it’s clear where they’re aiming it at, and it can be worn as a brooch or a bracelet. Snarkiness aside, we have to applaud any attempt to make something like this a product which people might actually wear. There’s too much of an assumption in the tech business that anything black and chrome is all you need, when in fact it’s not.
June will probably be busting out all over in the second half of this year, for a price of $99.00.
