Parrot Flower Power – digital green fingers will suddenly make you an expert gardener

There are gardening tools and then there are gardening tools, know what we mean? Your typical shovel or shears will definitely save your back and time, but when it comes to doing really important work in helping you get the best out of your plants, they’ll come up short. But then there’s this astonishing little fella…

The Parrot Flower Power (yep, from the same folk who do car hands-free systems, go figure…) is a new ultra high tech digital garden tool, which will give you the green fingers you’ve always yearned for. The device works via ultra low power Bluetooth, and syncs with your smartphone (but you guessed that already right?) to help you take care of your favorite plants with style.

Not only will it measure the water levels in the soil, but also the sunshine the plant is receiving, the ions in the soil (for fertilizer) and the temperature of the soil and surrounding air. The really clever bit however, is the fact that it then compares that with its integrated database details for the plant to advice on optimum care in those conditions.

Pretty mind-boggling we’d say. The battery lasts for 6 months, the database covers 6000 plants, and the app is currently Apple only at the moment, with Android coming. The price for all this awesome tech is $59.99 with free shipping. Awesome.
