Steampunk Gramophone Dock For Smartphones – why settle for dull grey when you’ve got this around?

Just because the rest of our lives may be dull grey and boring, doesn’t mean we have to put up with it in everything. For instance we often wear really bright red socks to work when we’re feeling rebellious. Actually that’s a lie, but we do often *think* about doing that. One day. Maybe.

We’re sure we’d be much more adventurous if we could have one of these sitting on our desk. Just look at it, all gleaming brass, wood and silliness. This Steampunk Gramophone Dock will accept iPhone and Android handsets and is made out of copper, rubber, wood and other astoundingly exciting bits and pieces.

The piece is a delicious combination of art and science, since you can play your music through the massive horn using an embedded Bluetooth speaker which nestles at the bottom of the unit, or you can order it with a cable audio out if you’re not a Bluetooth fan. All in all it’s got to be better than a black silicone rectangle any day. Priced at a handmade, hand-crafted sort of $625.
