Rupture Seal – plug the leak in that tank fast

ruptureseal2

If you’ve ever had a leak event happen in your life, especially of something like diesel or other noxious liquids, you’ll know it’s not a funny business. Apart from the health hazard, it can be a real pain and expensive in terms of clean up and restoration. Now a neat invention by a former firefighter aims to make it easier to contain a leak emergency before it gets worse.

Rupture Seal is a small gadget which you can use to instantly plug a leak for up to 10 hours while you make arrangements to sort out the problem in a more practical way. The device works by inserting a thin pin into the hole, which then holds a silicone plug against the outside of the hole via a nylon tie.

The product is available in a number of different sizes for different emergency needs, and is also sold in a marine version for plugging those all important holes in hull situations. We get the feeling it’s one of those, ‘when you need it, you really need it’ type products.

If you watch the video below you’ll get an idea of just how effective this little gizmo is, it plugs a really gushing hole in seconds, which is rather impressive. You’ll have to cough up $95.31 for the basic model however, and $156 for the large version, but how much is peace of mind worth to you?
